The exhibit addresses some of the more significant crimes in Saratoga County, including the famous Billings Murder of Northumberland. This murder and subsequent trial(s) became one of the most popular news items of the late 19th century. Eliza Billings, wife to a man reputed to be among the wealthiest in Saratoga County, was shot as she sat in her parlor. Although her husband, Jesse, was tried in what was known as "the longest and most expensive criminal trial in the one hundred year history of the United States," he was found not guilty in the murder of his wife and went home. “On Broadway" The Evolution of Dance on the Broadway Stage. An exhibit which explores the evolution of dance on the Broadway stage starting with the Ziegfeld years in the early 1900s to the present day era of the Jukebox Musical. Visit a replica of the famous Sardis restaurant where caricatures of famous Broadway producers, directors, and dancers adorn the walls ; participate in a staged Broadway audition or dance on the stage to the songs from the Jukebox Musicals.
