Seasonal swimming options are available in the Saratoga Spa State Park! While Gideon Putnam does not have our own pool, there are two State Park-run pools available in Saratoga State Park.

The Peerless Pool Complex is geared primarily towards children, and consists of three different pool areas; a main pool with a zero-depth entry; a water slide pool area with a 19' double slide; and a kiddie pool with a mushroom fountain. There is a small fee to use the Peerless Pool ($2 for adults, $1 for children), as well as a $10 vehicle entry fee to access that area of the Park. There are no lounge chairs provided, but you are welcome to bring your own pool chairs to use.

Built during the Depression as part of the Saratoga Reservation, the pool opened in 1935 in connection with the hydrotherapy program at our own Roosevelt Spa, and it was also the first heated pool in the country. While it is now unheated, its vibe is undoubtedly cool! There is normally a fee to use this pool area, but as a guest of Gideon Putnam Hotel, your Victoria Pool admission is waived! Seating and lounge chairs are available at Victoria Pool on a first-come-first-served basis.

Both swimming pools are operated by Saratoga Spa State Park, and are open seasonally, typically from around Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Both pool areas include food and beverage services, showers, locker rooms, and restrooms.
